Mexico City

February 9, 2016

Mexico City

I got back last week from a long weekend in Mexico City, my third time to this awesome city, which celebrates the most incredible food. Not just on the streets but in the vast array of great restaurants. As with most great cities each neighbourhood has it’s own vibe and something to offer, which we only touched on throughout the course of the weekend. We also only touched on the vast array of the delicious food on offer and many markets to be explored.

When I say we only touched on it, we definitely gave it our very best shot. Like my last trip to Mexico we went by our rule, street food in the day and restaurants by night. Although we messed up a little on Sunday, not realising all the restaurants close early, it was very sad. But don’t worry! We made up for it by visiting one of the restaurant El Cardenal to try their famous breakfast and it didn’t disappoint. The whole experience was quite special, wonderful food, drinks, and service. As well as this we also ate delicious fresh seafood at Contramar, an of course returned to Pujol. Once again an epic experience, unfortunately I don’t have many picture to share with you this time, but it was was truly amazing!

So, this trip was in the name of research, of course... :)

I’ll be sharing what I’ve learnt at the Flaming Flamingo supper clubs we have coming up. We’re luckily enough to have time to hold one in New York on my way back from California. The menu is up on my website, unfortunately (although exciting for me!), it was fully booked within 24 hours!! A record time for us I’m pretty pleased with.

Following that and back in London, I’m stepping off the plane and into the kitchen, we’ll be back at The Joker of Penton Street for our September 11th Summer Send Off supper club. It’ll be good to be back in one of our favourite venues so I’m excited! I’m also excited to be holding out Day of the Dead supper club at the end of October, when the menu will be all Mexican.. woop!!

So I leave you with these pictures... And I’ll be back soon, most likely with more pictures as I complete my final week in California, before heading to New York and then London!
